Targeted Therapy

« Back to Glossary Index

Targeted therapy is a type of cancer treatment that uses drugs or other substances to precisely identify and attack specific molecules (often proteins or genes) within cancer cells or on their surface. These molecules are critical for the cancer’s growth, division, and spread. This approach aims to minimize harm to healthy cells, which often results in fewer side effects compared to traditional chemotherapy.
